Who We Are
MY NAME is Pat Flannery, and I served my time as a carpenter at home in the midlands over twenty years ago. I have been in general building work for seventeen years now. I often call on my brothers Dermot Flannery, a plumber, and Eamonn Flannery, who does all my blockwork. It’s an extended family of craftsmen: my nephew Jerome Flannery is serving his time as an electrician; his boss, Peter Kane, has been one of my regular “sparks” for the last ten years. Our full crew, for big Council or commercial jobs, would number about twenty regulars from all trades, crafts and professions.
My first experience was with wood. That early work has shaped my entire
approach to building: it’s about making things fit. In the same way, I believe that apprenticeship gave me a good insight into how other crafts work: attention to detail, in other words, is important in every aspect of the job. Over the years, I have assembled a team in all the building crafts and trades, who feel the same way.
Having said that, it’s my name on the job, so I check everything. Every contract I finish should have my own personal mark on it: detail, finish, service, and above all good value.
